Human Traficking Dream

A young woman was at a festival that was being held at a park that was on a river or lake. It seemed like the US (or somewhere very westernized). She had been freed from a trafficking situation and had put her life back together. As the festival was ending, she put on her running shoes and was going to jog home. As night was falling and she began her jog away from the park, two big black suvs were approaching in the distance. They were coming for her! She had been found by her former traffickers! The suvs were full of large strong white men in black leather jackets - they were European. I was now the woman. I was terrified and began running back toward the park thinking there would be people there and I'd be safe. But now it was pitch dark and there was nobody. All I could make out was one small boat on the water with a nice old couple in it. I called out for help, but they made excuses about why they couldn't help me, "we can't control the speed of the boat and the boat light doesn't work." But they could clearly see I was being pursued by these evil men. I thought in my desperation I might try to jump in and swim to the boat but the water was obviously too cold and dangerous. The men were approaching and I knew I was going to be killed or taken back into a life of prostitution. I was facing in a matter of moments extreme violence and possible death. I was running so fast and was so terrified. The sun was just starting to come up now and I could see one or two more people, so I ran to them for help, but they just stood there looking at me, unwilling to do anything. As it got lighter, more people started to become visible. I ran back and forth looking for someone to help and everyone was clearly aware of the situation, yet they just stood there. Then I saw one man with a cell phone! I ran right up to him for help, I was so relieved - he could call 911 I thought, but he refused. I tried to hide myself behind him, but he refused to shield me from the men in the suvs. It was light now, more people were at the park, everyone understood my situation, and all it would have taken was just one person to help me. Just one, but nobody would do anything for me. I ran and ran, pleading, screaming in desparation to them, yelling and yelling for help. I was going to be thrown into this river or back into prostitution.
All of a sudden, GOD WAS THERE, off to the side watching all of this....And I shouted, (and in my sleep I felt the shout come from the deepest places of my being), - IS THERE NOT ONE INTERCESSOR?!! IS THERE NOT ONE WHO WILL STAND IN THE GAP FOR ME?!! And God was shouting it with me. At this point I woke up.

This is what I find very encouraging about this dream;
(I always look for something encouraging)
As I look at the overwhelming statistics and the heartbreaking realities of what the women and children of our generation in human trafficking are faced with...in the context of intercession, all it would have taken was something so small to have made the difference between life and death, prostitution or freedom for this young woman. Just one person to save her! And we can feel so overwhelmed when we see the numbers - 30 million-200 million enslaved, or we may feel that we have to be some mighty intercessor/prayer warrior type to make a difference, but all these people in this dream needed to do to save her life was say "yes". And her one life was so valuable, and so easy to save with simple willingness.

My dream

My dream was about a young girl in an asian country. She was working in a small restaurant. Many customers came in and out and she prepared food for them and served them under the supervision of the restaurant owner. Sometimes male customers would come into the restaurant looking for something other than food. The restaurant owner would nod at the girl and she would be taken to a location behind the restaurant and raped. It seemed like no one but the restaurant owner and the girl's rapists knew she existed. She wanted to cry out for help, but there was no one around. No one saw. No one could hear.

When I woke up and began praying about the dream I felt like it was an insight from God into a real person's life. She thought no one saw, but God sees and now I've seen her too. I have been praying for that girl since. I pray that one day I will have a happier dream of her...a dream where she is free.
