Pria is a child in the Project Rescue Nagpur red light district ministry who has been in the Home of Hope for 8 years. Her mother recently died of AIDS, leaving Pria in a difficult situation. Although her father had not been in contact with Pria at all, now there is a man claiming to be her father as well as several relatives who have taken a vested interest in taking Pria to be with them.

There is a hidden agenda behind all this. Her mother is the owner of a small room in the Red Light area, and there is a concern that Pria’s relatives may attempt to push Pria into the trade herself.

One month ago, Pria was taken by an uncle to collect her mother’s death certificate. She has not yet been returned to the home. There is concern that family members will permanently remove Pria from the home through the use of force/pressure. If this happens, we are unsure of what her fate will be.

1. WE ASK YOU TO PRAY FOR PRIA! YOUR PRAYERS CAN CHANGE THINGS! MAY OUR LORD DEAL RIGHTLY AND CAUSE THE DECISION TO BE MADE IN FAVOR OF PRIA, SO THAT SHE CAN RETURN TO SHARANSTHAN AND CONTINUE HER STUDIES THERE.

2. PLEASE PRAY FOR GOD’S FAVOR AND PROTECTION FOR THE TEAM @ SHARANSTHAN AS THEY ARE DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN THIS RESCUE PROCESS

PRAYERS ANSWERED!!!!!!!

This is an email I received from Project Rescue:

Last week we sent out a prayer request for Pria, who had been taken from the Home of Hope by her relatives after her mother’s death. We were concerned that her family members were going to have her permanently removed from the Home, and quite possibly force her into the same tragic lifestyle as her mother.

Thankfully, God has moved with favor on this situation!

The issue was brought to court, and earlier this week it was determined that Pria should be returned to the Home of Hope, where she will remain in the safe care of our team there. Her family may come to visit, however, she is to remain in the Home.

Thank you so much for praying with us. We are grateful for all that God is doing. Thank you for the important role you play in this process through your prayers!

With deep appreciation,

David and Beth Grant
