THE KINDNESS IN HIS FIRE
by Enid
TO THOSE WHO ARE GAZING ON MY BEAUTY....
"I am gazing at YOUR beauty. I'm gazing at you. I can't take my eyes off of you. Do you feel the flame from the fire in my eyes? Don't shrink back; it's just a little fire. I know it hurts sometimes, but it's just a little fire. You've come so close, you look so lovely, please don't draw back from the flame. I find you irresistible. I want you close to me. I'm longing for you to endure this flame, it's who I am. Come closer, my eyes are on you and they are a flame of fire."
Ezekiel 1:4,13,26 "As I looked , behold a great cloud, and fire flashing forth continually, and in the midst of the fire, gleaming metal....and the appearance of torches moving to and fro...and out of the fire went forth lightning and seated above the likeness of a throne was a likeness with a human appearance. And upward from what had the appearance of His waist I saw as it were gleaming metal, like the appearance of fire enclosed all around. And downward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness around Him."
Rev 1:14 "His eyes were like a flame of fire". Psalms 32:8 "I will counsel you with my eye upon you".
God, look on this one, gaze at me. Aware of dark areas in my heart, but embracing the flame – let your fiery eyes rest on me. I don’t shrink back from your fire – I embrace you! It burns, but I lean in. Please come closer.
I admit, I don't understand the gentleness of God. I don't understand His kindness. I don't understand how He refines us, yet the sting of the flame doesn't mean that He's displeased with us. I don't understand that this God who doesn't judge outwardly, but looks at my heart, finds me lovely, when that's where the darkness lies. I don't understand how I can draw so near to this God of fire, and instead of being burned, all I experience are a few tears and ashes. AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY HE GIVES ME BEAUTY FOR THESE ASHES AND KEEPS ALL OF THESE TEARS IN HIS BOTTLE. (Isaiah 61:3, Psalm 56:8)
Let my tears and these ashes blend together to form your clay, oh magnificent potter. Let your fiery eyes be the kiln that turns this earthen vessel into refined gold that you have so delicately worked in your skillful hands.
I may not understand, but I believe... so I'll wait. "The eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him and wait for His lovingkindness." Psalm 33:18

The beauty an knowledge of God is the only thing that will keep us going in a world of darkness. He is our hope. I love to gaze on His beauty!!
